Athena is our pretty little Black 4 year old female cat that was turned into our shelter on 1/16/14 with another cat named Laura. Sadly, their owner could not keep them as she had moved into an apartment and could not afford the pet deposit in order to keep both cats. Athena is a quiet and shy kitty at first with new people, but we know she is very sweet and talkative once she gets used to someone. She is used to a mellow home environment, so sometimes here at our shelter she likes to find a quiet spot to explore and hide out. Her and Laura used to chase toys and bugs together as indoor cats, and then curl up for naps on the couch or bed. She had been around children before, and she was tolerant of them as long as they were not too wild acting. She is not used to dogs, and she does everything she can to avoid them here at our shelter. A good home match for her would be a quiet household without a lot of loud noises or commotion to deal with. If there were other cats that would make her feel more comfortable. It would be so nice if Athena and Laura could be adopted together, as they have spent so much time as a pair in their previous home.
