Domestic Short Hair - Black - Storm - Medium - Adult - Male
This handsome Black cat is Storm, and he is a wonderfully sweet cat. He is ~2 years old, and was turned in by his owner because they could not afford to take care of him any longer and they said he had something wrong with him that made him walk weird. We instantly knew after seeing him move that he is a "distemper kitten", or cerebellar hypoplasia. He has a very wobbly walk, but he gets around pretty good once he gets his balance. Storm has always been around other cats in his previous home, and he is also very well behaved around our other shelter cats. He enjoys finding comfy cat beds to nap in, and of course any attention he can get from the staff and volunteers. He will need a special person or family that will understand his disability and be able to help him have a safe, indoor home for the rest of his life. Storm has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and he also tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV. HIs cerebellar hypoplasia is not contagious, and he can safely live with other cats. He most likely contracted the disorder from his mother while in the womb, and she was a carrier of the Distemper disease. He should not require any special Vet care, and can be vaccinated normally.
