Charlie is our fun loving Hound mix that is in need of a special home. He is 3-4 years old, and is super playful and energetic. He enjoys playing fetch, going for walks/hikes and napping on comfy dog beds. Charlie has lived with another dog and always played and peacefully coexisted with the other dog. We have had him around the shelter cats, and he has wanted to chase them around but is learning to respect them. He has been around children of all ages, but is most comfortable with kids 5 years and older. Charlie was adopted in 2012 after being found as a stray in Lake Placid. We thought everything was going great with him in his new home, but we were contacted by his adopters to say that they had to return him. Sadly, they could no longer keep him because Charlie had developed epileptic seizures. Due to his Epilepsy, Charlie needs to be kept on medication for the rest of his life to prevent seizures. These pills are not expensive, and he has not had a single seizure that we have noticed since being returned. Charlie is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and also tested negative for Heartworm and Lyme disease. He deserves a great home that will understand and accept his needs.
