Kaya was surrendered to our Humane Society in mid July 2013 after she was left homeless when her owner was arrested and no one in her life could keep her or afford to take care of her. She was boarded for ~2 weeks in hopes a home could be found but that unfortunately did not happen for her. We now have Kaya in our care, and she is a great young Pit Bull girl.
Since her arrival, we have found that she is house trained, and clean in her kennel. Kaya really enjoys getting outside for exercise and daily walks around our doggie trail on our property. We have not had a hard time with her, as she is leash trained. According to her former owners, Kaya has NOT lived with other dogs, and from our experience with her at the shelter, we feel that she is not going to get along with another dog at all. She supposedly has lived with a cat, and children 9 years old and up (which we feel is the age of children she will do okay around). We will be testing her more closely with our shelter cats to see if she can peacefully be around a cat or two. Kaya is going to need an experienced home that will be up to daily exercise for her energy level, as well as understanding that she will need to be kept under control due to her dominance issues with other dogs.

She had all of her medical needs taken care of prior to her arrival, and has a clean bill of health.
