Pit Bull Terrier - Oakley - Medium - Young - Male - Dog
Oakley is our young Pit Bull Terrier boy that was supposedly found running loose here in Saranac Lake and the person who "found" him called the local police to report it. No one ever called us missing him despite him being a sweet and playful boy. We believe he is 2-3 years old, and is medium size (only weighs 45-50lbs) at this point. He has a very unique dark brown colored coat, and of course we can't skip mentioning his big, goofy ears that are too cute. Oakley has been around our staff and volunteers on a daily basis, and he loves to go for walks and have playtime outdoors. He is obsessed with toys, and playing fetch. His energy level is very high, and he will need a home able to keep him active. He has been around our junior volunteers, and we feel he would do best with kids over 10years of age. We have introduced Oakley to some of the other dogs, and he has done okay meeting other dogs that are friendly, playful and submissive. He will want to rough house, so another dog would have to tolerate that. In a home, Oakley would want to be TOP DOG, and has shown that he wants to claim/guard/protect his food dish, toys, etc around other dogs. He can not live with cats, as he has shown a high interest in wanting to chomp on them. We have had Oakley neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and he was negative for Heartworm & Lyme disease. Oakley is a great dog, and he will be an awesome companion for an active person or couple that love to play outside.
