Alice was found living outdoors with her male best friend Jafar. The woman saw the 2 cats hanging around outside for 2 months, and then noticed that Alice looked very pregnant. She caught her and brought her to us just in time, as she gave birth to 4 cute little kittens 2 days later. We believe Alice is ~2 years old. Alice and Jafar were probably someone's cats that just wandered away from home or were left abandoned. Alice took some time to adjust to being in the shelter, and then the foster home we moved her to while she raised her kittens. We do think it had been a while since Alice and Jafar had been indoors, but they never were so fearful that they tried to hiss, bite or swat us. She let us help her whle she was giving birth to her kittens, which does not happen when dealing with cats that are truly "feral" or wild. When she arrived, she was pretty easy going about having the staff and volunteers around, but is happiest in a quiet environment. Since Alice and Jafar were found together, we would love to see them placed into a new home as a pair if possible. She will be happiest in a home without wild and crazy dogs or children. She may tolerate a mellow, cat-friendly dog and older children. Alice has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and tested negative for Leukemia & FIV. She is healthy, happy and ready to be adopted to a quiet home. Please contact us for more information, or stop by our shelter to meet her.
