Stewie is our cute, medium sized (~30lbs) 6-7 year old, spayed female, Terrier mix, that is available for adoption. She was recently turned back into our shelter by a previous adopter that could no longer keep her. Stewie was originally adopted from our shelter back in 2010 after being transferred to us from the Tupper Lake dog pound. Stewie is a sweet dog that loves attention and spending time with our staff and volunteers. She is very active, and would love to be someone's hiking/walking buddy. She loves to cuddle on the couch, and prefers stuffed toys over other toys. She is leash trained, crate-trained and housebroken. We have had Stewie walked by some of our Junior/Teenager volunteers and she really likes that. She has not been around young children much, so we think she is best placed with kids over 10 years of age. In her previous home, she lived with 2 other young dogs, and she was fine with them as long as she was the boss. Stewie will need to meet a new dog for us to see if she will assert herself and try to be the dominant one. Stewie has not lived with cats before, and she gets really excited about chasing the shelter cats...so we don't think it is a good idea to place her into a home with a cat. Stewie is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and ready to be adopted! She tested negative for heartworm and lyme disease last fall. She is such a wonderful and sweet dog that deserves a loving home!
